In its day, the trawler “Sea Eagle” ventured forth, painted and proud. Surviving storms at sea, it returned to shore with its catch, time and again. Now abandoned, weathered by time and the elements, its voyages have become memories. But the kindred spirit, for which it was christened, still remembers. “I came across this abandoned fishing boat while on a research trip for killer whales. I was immediately drawn to its rusting hulk and eventually decided it would be an unusual subject for a painting. Perching a bald eagle on the bow of the boat seemed appropriate, given its name.
